Live rituals are not recorded. Recording starts only when you choose the separate video recorder, and saving that video to Photos is optional.
Overview
MotionRise is a morning movement app for iPhone. You may use Sign in with Apple for your profile, but MotionRise has no separate developer-operated account server. The current version contains no advertising, analytics SDK, or third-party tracking technology.
Camera and movement processing
When you start a ritual, MotionRise may use the camera to recognize supported poses without recording the live session. In the separate video-analysis flow, you may record a workout or choose one from Photos. Frames are analyzed on device and the video is never uploaded.
Body landmarks derived from frames are held in memory only during analysis. MotionRise does not use facial recognition or attempt to identify you.
Data stored and synchronized
MotionRise stores ritual schedules, exercise targets, confirmed video-analysis results and metadata, scalar completion results, and bounded still archives. A session may retain up to six exercise-form issue stills and twelve completed-repetition stills; these are low-resolution image data and may show you exercising. These records synchronize through your private iCloud database so they can remain consistent across your devices. CloudKit production setup and two-device sync testing are release work in progress. Imported videos remain in Photos and are not synchronized by MotionRise; a new recording is saved to Photos only when you choose that option.
Your profile may contain a name you enter or receive on the first Sign in with Apple authorization, an app-specific Apple user identifier, and an optional photo you select. Apple does not provide your Apple Account photo to MotionRise. A selected profile image is resized before it is stored and synchronized through your private iCloud database.
If you review a selected video's metadata, you may choose to save its optional location with the workout record. MotionRise does not request live location.
Permissions
Camera and microphone
Camera access is requested for verified rituals and user-initiated video recording. The system recorder may request microphone access to include audio; audio is not analyzed.
Photos
Photos access is used when you choose an existing workout or save a new recording.
Notifications and alarms
Notification or alarm authorization is requested only when you choose to enable a reminder.
Collection and sharing
MotionRise uses Apple services for private iCloud synchronization and optional Sign in with Apple. It does not transmit your data to a MotionRise-operated server, and it does not sell personal data or use it for tracking.
When you choose Update MotionRise, or the weekly check interval expires, the app requests the current version from Apple's iTunes Lookup API and caches the returned version and App Store link on your device. This request goes to Apple rather than a MotionRise server; Apple may receive normal network metadata such as your IP address. If it cannot reach Apple, MotionRise uses the cached result or reports that update information is unavailable.
Apple processes MotionRise Pro purchases, renewals, billing, and refunds. MotionRise uses StoreKit on your device to display subscription offers and verify whether Pro access is active.
Retention and deletion
Your profile, ritual preferences, and completion history remain until you delete them. You can remove one workout from History or choose Delete All MotionRise Data in Profile. Delete All removes the profile, rituals, and workout history locally and submits those deletions to your private iCloud store for synchronization. Deleting data does not cancel an App Store subscription, which is managed separately through Apple.
Changes to this policy
If MotionRise adds developer-operated accounts, networking, analytics, or other data practices, this policy will be updated before those changes are released. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.
